Safe Ramadan 2021 Guide

Monday 19-04-2021 - 13:23

Ramadan is currently in process and started on 12th April and runs until the 12th May.

Ramadan is a religious Muslim festival and the Arabic name for the ninth month in the Islamic calendar. It is considered one of the holiest Islamic months. Many of the Muslim community fast during Ramadan and this involves not eating food or drinking anything between sunrise and sunset for the entire month.

With COVID19 Ramadan will be a very different experience. Many of the usual practices normally observed such as going to the mosque and iftar, or visiting friends and family indoors, will sadly not be possible this year.

The Muslim Council of Britain has put together a guide which contains advice and signposting, resources to help Muslims in Britain make the most of Ramadan, and staying safe and supporting the fight against the virus.

The MCB also publishes regular updated overall COVID19 guidance for British Muslim communities at www.mcb.org.uk/coronavirus

We would like to wish a happy and safe Ramandan to everyone that is celebrating this month!
